UPDATE (8/7/2008): new version of llink (2.1.0) posted here!  w00t!

Well, we have a new version of llink!  Read my old review here!  This version can now browse inside of .iso and .img files!  One of the issues I had with the old version!  Sweet!

Download these files:

Enjoy!  If there are any issues, let me know!

  1. Tony Said,

I am a new bie. Do you have documentation or link that shows how to install this in the DNS-323? With the new version, will I be able to play iso and video_ts folders with subtitiles? Thanks.

  2. admin Said,

    Hi Tony,

The best I can do is tell you to look here for all the info you need about setting up ffp0.5 on the dns323 - it’s super easy…

    http://wiki.dns323.info/howto:ffp

If you have any specific questions, I’ll do my best to answer…

  3. ats65 Said,

I downloaded the 3 files listed above. The extension is changed to .gz. How to install these files after I have installed fun-plug 0.5? Thanks.

  4. admin Said,

    @ats65
    funpkg -i

Do that for all the packages and then you need to start llink by typing: sh /ffp/start/llink.sh start

To make it start every time the NAS restarts type: chmod +x /ffp/start/llink.sh

It should explain everything on the wiki posted above…

Also, why did you change the extension to .gz? There should be no need to change the extension.

  5. ats65 Said,

I did not change the name of the extension. When I downloaded it, the file has the gz extension. I will rename it to .tgz and then run funpkg -i package_name. Thanks for your help. Will let you know how it goes. I did check the wiki site but did not find the instruction you mentioned.

  6. ats65 Said,

Thanks for your help. I got it working. But llink would die when I select the video_ts.ifo in the video_ts directory. The video will start if I select the largest file with.vob extension. Is it possible to suppress the display of the .ifo files?

  7. ats65 Said,

Can I delete the .tgz files once the packages are installed?

  8. admin Said,

    @ats65
re - hide .ifo files - I’m not sure. Perhaps there is something in the llink.conf file you can check out.
re - delete .tgz files - yes, you can delete them. They actually get copied to /ffp/ directory somewhere…

  9. ats65 Said,

Yes, I can hide the .ifo by deleting it in the llink.conf file. It has been working great, much more reliable than using SMB share. Thanks,

  10. jeey Said,

Have anyone experinced any problems loading rar based movies in this version?

  11. admin Said,

    @jeey
Sorry, I have never tried to load a movie from a .rar file… if llink supports it, it *should* work…

  12. Tony Said,

Can I stream the movie using an URL instead of selecting it from llink? If yes, what is the URL format if the movie is stored in this format: \Volumn 1\movie title\video_ts on the DNS-323? Thanks.

  13. Tony Said,

I asked the above question because I am using the NAS with a IStarHD mini (nmt player) to stream video. I would like to create html pages that display all my movies with images and links to the movie so I can click on the link and it will play the movie. I tried the “My Jukebox” posted in the popcornhour forum but it assumes all the movies are located on the local hard drive and not on a NAS running Llink. I tried using a link in the web service setup of IStarHD and it crashes the IStarHD. The format of the link is: http://192.168.10.x:8000/genre/movie title/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB
Any help will be much appreciated.

  14. admin Said,

It appears like you _can_ stream directly by using a URL, I just tested it and it works fine. I tested using both xine and my web browser.

    xine http://192.168.1.2:8000/TV/tv_show1/tvshow.avi

works like a champ! Also, if you type that URL in a browser, it prompts me to save the file. In conclusion, yes, it works fine.

The space in your URL might be the problem… maybe try: http://192.168.10.x:8000/genre/movie%20title/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB ? Or just get rid of the space :)

  15. Tony Said,

Yes, thanks for pointing it out. I can now play the movies directly from the web pages with cover art and details.

  16. Tony Said,

Sorry, there is a newer version of Llink released by Lundman. Will you be releasing a version of that binary compiled for D-LINK sometime in the future? Thanks.

  17. admin Said,

I was just looking at the change log: http://www.lundman.net/wiki/index.php/Llink:changelog

I’ll make another release when 2.1 comes out… the changes between 2.0.8 and 2.0.9 don’t seem like much…

If you see 2.1 released, let me know and I’ll package it.

  18. Tony Said,

Thanks. Will surely let you know once it comes out.

  19. Tony Said,

Would you have any clue how to run Llink in HP Mediavault MV2010 (gen 1) NAS? The IStarHD does not always seem to find the UPnP server and the NFS function does not work like DNS-323. The samba share works for most movies but not all.

  20. Tony Said,

It looks like Lundma has released 2.1 for windows yesterday.

  21. moviepower Said,

Thanks for your help admin and ats65 … I can watch the movie on PCH from DNS-323 using llink.

  22. Tony Said,

Will you be releasing v2.2 soon? Thanks.

  23. Tony Said,

Pls ignore my message. Found the release. Thanks.
